Heat-resistant, environmentally friendly façade element
OPDRACHTGEVER RAU Architects
VRAAG Develop a prototype for a sun-blinding façade element made from light, environmentally friendly material.
OPLOSSING RAU Architects designed façade cladding, which also served as sun blinds, for the new addition to the Bisschoppelijk College building in Weert. The projecting elements of almost one and a half metres had to be made in a lightweight, red material that had a low environmental impact. NPSP made a prototype from natural fibre composite with integrated lighting as part of SenterNovem's TeMa subsidy design programme.
